The Abington Public Library Reference Department has a wide variety of materials and services to meet patrons’ informational needs and answer their reference questions. Inquiries may be made in person or by phone at 781- 982-2139. Print and online resources are available.
Print Resources include our large collection of reference books, minutes of the various town departments, boards and commissions, Massachusetts telephone books, information about the Weymouth Naval Air Station, a genealogical and local history collection in the Wales Room, and much more.
Online
databases funded by the Abington Public Library include, World
Book, Consumer
Reports, Novelist
Plus, Culturegrams,
and Tumblebooks.
Tthe Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners funds more
than seventeen databases that include magazine and newspaper
articles, biographies, literary criticism and general reference
sources, as well as specialiezed databases for science, history,
health and current events. Access
the databases from home with an Abington Public Library
card.
Computer resources available in the reference area:
3 PAC computer stations for searching the Old Colony Library Network.
6 Internet computer stations allowing one 60-minute session
per day.
The Internet use policy is available at the reference and circulation desks and in the policies section of this web site.
A printing charge of ten cents per page may be paid at the circulation desk.
