Book Discussion Groups
The
Abington Public Library offers two book discussion groups
for Abington children.
The
Cliffhanger Club Child-Parent Book Discussion Group was founded
in the spring of 2001. This group provides a forum for
lively discussions of contemporary and classic children's
literature. Participants must be in the fourth through
eighth grades and be accompanied by a parent reading partner.
The Cliffhanger Club meets on Thursday evenings. Registration
is required.
During
the summer the Cliffhanger Club and Jr. Cliffhanger Club meet
jointly. Meeting times may vary.

The
Jr. Cliffhanger Club Book Discussion Group began in the spring
0f 2005. This group introduces children and parents
to the art of talking about a book in a group setting.
Short novels encourage children to read critically.
Participants must be in the second and third grades and accompanied
by a parent reading partner. The Jr. Cliffhanger Club
meets on Thursday evenings at 7:00 PM. Registration
is required.
During
the summer the Jr. Cliffhanger Club meets with the Cliffhanger
